Jakki Originals “Crowns for Queens” is the creative expression of Jakki Brown, born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. She is the third of five children nurtured in church by their parents, Drs. Otis F. and Johnnie Mae Brown, ordained ministers and humble servants of God.
While visiting the San Francisco Bay Area in the sixties, Jakki loved it so much that she relocated from Oregon to San Francisco, Ca. She began a career in Advertising but years later transitioned to the Hospitality Industry. Hired to pioneer a major hotel concierge program in the 70s, she built her career in hospitality to a level of success whereby after 33 years of dedicated service to people of all walks of life, she retired in 2010.
In the late 1990s, Jakki learned professionally how to fishtail braid and began servicing clients in the evenings and weekends. However, her retirement from the Hospitality Industry in 2010 allowed her the long awaited opportunity to now have the time and energy as a budding entrepreneur to focus totally on her passion, dreams and aspirations for her fishtail braid art form which is trademarked as “Crowns for Queens.” This tremendous gift of beauty enhancement given to her by God to give back to the world with love, is truly her passion, pleasure, joy and will be her legacy.
